Charles Samuel Kaminsky, Altoona, died Thursday after an prolonged ailment.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Sandi (Handmaker) Kaminsky of 28-1/2 a long time along with stepsons: Scott Handmaker and Brett (Alisa) Handmaker and three stepgranddaughters: Morgan, Samantha and Jessica whom he tremendously adored. He is also survived by a brother-in-legislation, Stan Goldstein a niece, Jodie Goldstein a nephew, Morrie (Stacey) Goldstein a niece, Jessica Goldstein and partner, Allan together with terrific-nephews and nieces, Max and Sara Leeds, Micah and Lily Goldstein and Liev.

He was predeceased by his sister, Pleasure (Kaminsky) Goldstein and moms and dads: Morrie and Miriam (Brenner) Kaminsky.

Charles invested the big part of his existence career as president/operator of Puritan Cleaners, a company launched by his father Morrie and Uncle Jack Kaminsky. Puritan Cleaners was a company he loved. He could generally be located behind the counter conference and greeting his faithful consumers/pals. Puritan Cleaners was regarded and honored by The Chamber of Commerce Corridor OF FAME in 2007 for its outstanding and prolonged-expression service to the local community. In 2015, he retired from the company.

Charles was a 1955 graduate of Altoona Large University. He then gained an accounting diploma from Robert Morris College of Organization. In usual Charles fashion, he appreciated to say: β€œIt was a CPA diploma in Cleaning, Urgent and Alterations!”

Charles and Sandi were being avid spectators/enthusiasts and enjoyed attending basketball sporting gatherings, primarily basketball at Penn Point out, Saint Francis, Bishop Guilfoyle and Altoona Superior Faculty. He prided himself in being a charter member of Altoona Sunrise Rotary. He loved to travel with Sandi to New York City, Borgata Casino Lodge in Atlantic Metropolis, Florida, and other remarkable places. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 decades and then was recalled for yet another year of lively duty in the ’60s.

He was a life time member of Agudath Achim Synagogue.
