DWU’s Scotchman and Ms. Wesleyan award candidates announced for 2021

The titles of Scotchman and Ms. Wesleyan are offered to acknowledge two seniors based mostly on campus management, assistance, local community management, teachers and character. The honor of Miss out on Wesleyan began in 1929 and the Scotchman in 1939. The title for the Scotchman was borrowed from the university’s music, “The Scotchman.” Quite a few noteworthy alumni and 4 existing DWU staff members received this honor through their enrollment as pupils.

To qualify for candidacy, learners must have a least GPA of 3.25 and be ranked as senior position. The winners will be declared at the Honors Convocation to be held on Friday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. The occasion is open only to those people with tickets.

The candidates for the 2021 Scotchman contain:

Devin Bedke, Kearney, Neb.

Bedke is a indigenous of Kearney, Neb. A biology major, he also participated in band, choir, Highlanders and CHAOS Club, and was a university student ministry volunteer. Bedke acquired the Harriet N. Houk Scholarship for biology and was inducted into the Sigma Zeta countrywide honor modern society. He was also an attained musician, awarded the Sinfonia Assistance Award for new music. He programs to go after a graduate diploma in health care. Bedke is the son of Dennis and Debra Bedke.

Joshua Garry, Sioux Falls

Garry is an accounting big who options to return to DWU this fall for a fifth year of soccer. Garry’s activities included football and Enterprise Club. He will begin a comprehensive-time placement at ELO CPAs & Advisors in Chamberlain immediately after graduation. He also plans to go after an MBA at DWU. Garry is the son of Chuck and Kim Garry.

Edgar Meza, Spearfish

Meza is a wildlife administration key. His things to do at DWU involved officer for the Conservation Club and member of Alpha Sigma Chapter of Sigma Zeta, and he served as a resident assistant. Meza plans to function for the Section of Activity, Fish & Parks as a conservation officer. He is the son of Jorge and Sonia Meza.

Caden Milmine, Buffalo, Wyo.

Milmine an accounting big who participated in soccer, observe and area, and University student Ministry Council. Following graduation, Milmine ideas to enroll in the MBA method and continue his observe vocation at Dakota Wesleyan. His mothers and fathers are Ken and Christy Milmine.

Layne Stafford, Arlington, Neb.

Stafford is graduating with an accounting major with an emphasis in sporting activities management. Stafford was energetic in baseball, Business Club and pupil ambassadors. He programs to go on his economic advising job after graduation. Stafford’s mother and father are Tim Stafford and Kandi Hill.

Wyatt Voelker, Newcastle, Wyo.

Voelker is a wildlife biology important. His involvement was in Conservation Club, College student Ministry Council, golf and the McGovern Engagement Group. Soon after graduation, Voelker hopes to perform toward a master’s diploma in predator ecology or to uncover a task undertaking predator command. He is the son of Ryan and Donna Voelker.

The candidates for the 2021 Ms. Wesleyan include:

Logan Amundson, Watertown

Amundson is a psychology major with a minimal in spouse and children scientific tests concentrated in counseling. Amundson was a member of Psychology Club, was a cheerleader (captain for two yrs), served as course president for the Student Association Senate in both of those her junior and senior decades and was a student ambassador. Amundson will go after a master’s diploma in school counseling. She is the daughter of Wally and Gayle Amundson.

Kindra Clark, Garretson

Clark is a secondary English instruction big. Her roster of golf equipment and companies provided soccer, college student ambassadors, Future Teachers Organization, softball, Tiger Actions Team, Massive Close friend Tiny Buddy, Christian Corps, Women’s Delight Group and Student Ministry Council. Clark has acknowledged a career with the Mitchell School District the place she will be teaching seventh quality English commencing in August. Her moms and dads are Doug and Tana Clark.

Abigail Hanson, Alexandria

Hanson majored in accounting when at DWU and was a member of a number of organizations: Dakota Wesleyan Choir, Wesleyan Bells, Dakota Dynamics, Business enterprise Club (treasurer) and University student Ministry Council. She was a student ambassador and was section of the 2019 Peru mission journey workforce. Hanson has accepted a placement at Schoenfish and Co. in Parkston as an accountant and options to consider the CPA test. Her mother and father are Jason and Rita Hanson.

Emily McDonald, Crooks

McDonald is a biochemistry significant and has been lively in CHAOS Club, tutoring, and track and discipline. She is hoping to go to professional medical university just after graduation. McDonald’s parents are Brad and Terri McDonald.

Grace Rule, Sioux Falls

Rule majored in organization administration with an emphasis in management and sports management. She was the 2020-2021 Scholar Affiliation Senate president, in addition to serving as Company Club vice president, 3rd Liberty club member and a university student ambassador. Soon after graduation, she will function at Landscape Backyard garden Facilities as the Director of Very first Impressions and will search for graduate school chances. Rule is the daughter of Fred and Julie Rule.

Lacey Wipf, Freeman

Wipf majored in biology with an individualized instruction slight. Wipf was involved in a wide variety of functions at DWU: Dakota Wesleyan Choir, Wesleyan Band, Wesleyan Bells, Highlanders, home everyday living workers, College student Ministry Council, Third Independence, Scholar Association Senate and McGovern Engagement Group. Just after graduation, Wipf will enroll in a graduate application for pathology and hopes to finally work as a pathology assistant. Her mothers and fathers are Larry and Sheila Wipf.
