Gilbert R. Dubois, 86, of Cumberland, previously of Seekonk, Massachusetts, and Smithfield, Rhode Island, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at property, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved partner of the late Ann F. (McKitchen) Dubois.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Odilon and Diana (Foisy) Dubois, he experienced lived in Seekonk and Smithfield for many years, prior to relocating to Cumberland two many years ago.

Mr. Dubois was a graduate of Pawtucket East High College – Course of 1953, Hubbard Business School, Pawtucket, Rhode Island earning a certification in Business Administration, and Bryant School with a degree in Business enterprise/Accounting. His career in marketing and revenue spanned around forty years at American Insulated Wire Co.- a division of Leviton Production Co., retiring in 1998 as Senior Vice President for Revenue & Marketing and advertising. In 1996, he was awarded the Charles D. Scott Distinguished Career Award by the New England Wire & Cable Club. 

He was selected to be a member of the Board of Administrators of Credit history Union Central Falls, now Navigant Credit Union from 1991 – 2006. He was installed as its Chairman of the Board in 1998 and served in that potential right up until his retirement.

An avid golfer, he was a forty-calendar year member of Pawtucket State Club and was a member of Bear Lakes Golfing Club, West Palm Beach front, Florida, and a previous member of Louisquisset Golf Club, North Providence.  He was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland, and a former communicant of St. Michael Church, Smithfield, and St. Mary’s Church, Seekonk.

He is survived by two daughters, Karenann McLoughlin, and her fiancé George Lazieh, of Cumberland, and Ami L. Salwierz, and her spouse Jerome of Rehoboth just one son, Michael J. Dubois, and his spouse Carol, of Tampa, Florida and four grandchildren, Caitlyn McLoughlin, Jack McLoughlin, Abigail Salwierz and Noelle Salwierz. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of the late Maggie Ann McLoughlin, and the brother of the late Donald Dubois.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 8:45 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Street, Cumberland. 

Burial, with armed forces honors, will observe in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. 

Relatives and close friends are invited and may possibly simply call on Tuesday, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
