Nadine Bogard re-joins BDO in its private client services unit

2 min read

Nadine Bogard has re-joined audit and advisory firm BDO, arriving as a Senior Manager. She will specialise in all aspects of UK trusts including accounting, succession and tax.

For private clients, the need for specialist tax advice has never been greater, as legislation becomes more complex around the world, and tax authorities harden their attitudes to tax planning and there is an increased risk of investigation. BDO’s private client services (PCS) team delivers a comprehensive set of services including asset structuring, succession planning, will planning, trust services, tax compliance, risk management, family business advisory and family office services on a national and international scale to help clients navigate the changing environment.

As the accountancy and business advisory firm looks to strengthen its UK tax offering, it has confirmed the appointment of a new Senior Manager to its PCS wing. Based in Guildford, Nadine Bogard has many years of experience advising individuals and families on wealth structuring and inheritance tax planning, and will now sit within the firm’s expanding tax advisory team in the south east, led by Head of Private Client Services Michael Flaherty.

BDO strengthens tax offering with Nadine Bogard appointment

Speaking on the news, BDO South East Tax Partner Flaherty commented, “It’s always great to welcome former colleagues back to BDO. Nadine has significant trust and inheritance tax expertise which further strengthens our offering across the region in what is likely to be an increasingly active area of tax change in the years ahead.”

Bogard spent a year as a Personal Tax Senior with BDO from February 2007, before joining RSM UK. Over the eight years she was with RSM, she rose to the rank of Associate Director, before working for a further four years as a Senior Manager with Smith & Williamson, managing the firm’s Guildford Trusts & Estates team.

Reflecting on her return to BDO, Bogard said, “I am thrilled to be re-joining BDO and working alongside the team in the South East. I’m looking forward to utilising the knowledge I have gained in the local market to grow the trust and inheritance tax business across BDO’s offices in Guildford and Gatwick.”

The news comes shortly after BDO’s London office also boosted its tax offering. Caroline Harwood joined the company as a Partner in the employment tax team, and alongside advising the firm’s clients, she will now support the further growth of the employment tax team and help shape the team’s vision for the future.
