CHESHIRE – Nora Elizabeth (Daniel) Adams, 97, passed absent peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at her home.

Mrs. Adams was born on July 4, 1923 in Alberta, Va., a daughter of the late Peter Morris Daniel and Jeannetta Virginia (Roberts) Daniel. She served in the Navy through Planet War II. She was one particular of the initial girls recognized for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES).

Next the conclude of Earth War II, she attended the College of Connecticut below the GI Invoice. She graduated from the College of Connecticut with a diploma in organization administration. She then received a training certificate.

She earned numerous innovative degrees through her nearly 35 many years as an elementary college trainer in the Meriden School District and as the district studying consultant in the Cheshire College District. Her retirement position was aiding her husband with his accounting apply.

She cherished dancing, taking part in bridge, and touring the globe with her partner. She liked a range of needle arts which include knitting, needle point, cross sew and quilting.

She was an energetic member of the Cheshire Quilting Club. She was lively in several group and expert organizations, including Phi Kappa Delta, the American Association of University Females (AAUW) and serving as president of the Old Towne Condominium Affiliation. She also held various offices inside of the Very first Congregational Church of Cheshire.

She is survived by her son, Ron and his spouse Joan, of Kansas her sister Norma Nicholson, of Virginia two grandchildren, Penelope Adams of Virginia, and Melanie Deardorff and her husband Peter, of Kansas two good-grandchildren, Heidi and Emily Deardorff her longtime pal, whom she regarded as an American Discipline Service (AFS) son, Lauri Sarvillinna and his wife Rajia, of Jousta, Finland and a lot of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Adams one sister, Ernestine Virginia (Ernie) Loving and two brothers, James Pryor (JP) Daniel and Morris Franklin (Frank) Daniel.

A graveside support, with armed forces honors, will be on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
