JOan Eugenia (Boyce) Sturchio

AUGUSTA – Joan E. Sturchio, 96, died March 29, 2021 at M.G.M.C. from pure results in. Born in Orange, N.J. on Sept. 17 1924, Joan grew up in New Jersey and graduated from Nutley Significant College. Later in daily life, she also examined two years of accounting at Mid-Point out Organization University in Augusta.

Operating for WestingHouse soon after superior school, she fulfilled her long run husband, Sal, at a church perform in New Jersey. At the time he was making ready to travel back to Italy to review drugs at College of Bologna, so in 1950 Joan followed Sal to Italy via passenger ship to be married in St. Peter’s Chapel, in the Vatican. When living in Italy Joan became pretty fluent with Italian speech and lifestyle. Soon after returning to the states mid 1950’s, they spent time in several places of the place just before permanently finding in Maine, their favored and frequent journey place.

A devout Catholic, and frequent communicant, Joan became and remained an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic church and group. She was a extensive-time Eucharistic Minister, a member of St. Agnes Circle, Daughters of Isabella and was president of local Church Women United into the 1980’s. She participated in a lot of charitable activities for St. Mary’s church and St. Michael’s parish. A really proficient textile fabricator she produced wonderful outfits and delicate sculptures, numerous of which she donated for charity.

Soon after Sal passed absent in 2003 she spent time dwelling with her son and grandchildren in Southern Maine. In a non-public burial assistance Joan will be put to relaxation following to Sal in the previous St. Mary’s Cemetery.
