Odessa mayor announces effort to start active shooter training task force

ODESSA, Texas —
On Tuesday, Odessa Mayor Javier Joven declared an effort to type an energetic shooter undertaking force.
The system, titled the “Mayor’s Active Shooter Education Coalition,” would involve ongoing training aimed at preparing the community to respond to threats posed by an energetic shooter.
Joven is requesting participation from local regulation enforcement companies, faculties, church buildings and company house owners.
Not all individuals entities had been formally on board at the time of his announcement, but he reported he would be reaching out to the Odessa Police Division, Ector County Sheriff’s Office, Ector County Unbiased School District, Medical Heart Clinic and the Texas Division of General public Security, as nicely as other regulation enforcement agencies and group leaders, in the coming days.
He closed out his announcement with the pursuing assertion:
“No a single is aware of when an evil man or woman bent on loss of life and destruction will unleash the darkness of their heart but we, as a local community, can respond immediately and forcefully to lessen the injury wrought by this kind of evil and can conserve lives if we are prepared to do so.
I request that all Ector County citizens continue to pray for Uvalde and for our neighborhood leaders as we perform jointly to better guard our metropolis.”
