Robert ‘Bob’ A. Waegele Sr., lively accountant

On Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, Robert “Bob” A. Waegele Sr., devoted spouse, father and grandfather, handed away peacefully in his house at the age of 76. 

Bob was born March 30, 1944, in Nationwide Park, N.J.  He was born of humble roots and held several employment early in everyday living – a Mr. Softee ice product truck driver, a vacuum salesman, a Mullica Hill Volunteer Hearth Fighter and several some others.  In 1963 at the age of 19, Bob started doing work at the Common Motors assembly plant in Newport. He and his family members moved to Delaware in 1970. 

Even though doing the job total-time at GM, he attended Goldey-Beacom Higher education exactly where he acquired his accounting diploma.  He served on the UAW representing his colleagues with fairness and dignity.  It was there that he cultivated a powerful function ethic.  He uncovered to put together taxes, became an Enrolled Agent and started a tax preparation business, Greenbank Tax Service, on the front porch of his property in Marshallton.  Bob retired from GM right after 30 decades of support in 1993. 

He never ever really retired although he beloved to perform, so he ongoing rising his business enterprise, ultimately relocating to Rehoboth Beach, where he opened a new tax office environment, Shore Tax Services.  He cherished encouraging many others, and he was always keen to lend a hand to any one in want.  He assisted thousands of shoppers for 40-plus yrs, and he volunteered his solutions to several charities, most notably the FOP Sussex County Lodge #2, who awarded him with their President’s award in 2020.

Bob was not only an accountant he could do nearly anything, from plumbing and carpentry, to electrical and mechanical perform. He was a jack of all trades.  He appreciated functioning, you not often observed him on the sofa in entrance of the Television set (other than to check out the Phillies or Notre Dame).  If he was not in his workplace, he was performing on tasks in his garden or home. He liked his Harley.  He was known for his “dad jokes,” he generally had one all set for you, he savored his rum and cokes and Monkey Bones at the Purple Parrot, he was a horrible speller, and he experienced a smooth place for dogs. He liked actively playing Mexican Educate and Hand & Foot and tenting with his family and pals at Knoebels and Cherrystone. 

He beloved to journey and was fortuitous more than enough to be equipped to do so with his wife Joan and their pet dogs. They traveled to just about every point out, except Hawaii in his RV, which include Alaska!  (He did, even so, fly to Hawaii after!).  Bob was a member of the American Legion Stahl Submit 30, American Legion Write-up 28, Delaware Satisfied Campers, Delmarva Winnies, and the Friday Early morning Bikers Breakfast Club. He will be missed by not only his household and buddies, but by hundreds of clients he has served above the several years.  Regardless of his humble roots, Bob proved the price and benefits of hard do the job.  In executing so, he presented a comprehensive life of eternal reminiscences to his family, who go on to uphold the get the job done ethic he instilled in them.   

Bob was predeceased by his mother and father, Francis and Clara his brother, Paul his sisters: Clara Robb and Frances Waegele and his dog Sadie.

Our hearts are broken, as Bob will be skipped dearly by his spouse, Joan Waegele his kids, Robert A. Waegele Jr. (Mary) Leesa Hollenbaugh (Kenny) and his five grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother, Joseph his sisters: Elizabeth Densten and Mabel Huff and dozens of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of everyday living will be held at a later day.   Preparations have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Houses and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

 

In lieu of flowers, the household asks for donations to the Delaware Humane Affiliation or Sussex County FOP Lodge #2.
